Two soldiers injured after UPDF vehicle rams into train

Two UPDF soldiers were on Thursday morning rushed to hospital in critical condition after a vehicle they were travelling in rammed into a moving train.

The incident according to Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, happened at the Kireka railway crossing.

"A UPDF land cruiser registration number H4DF2180 was in a collision with a Uganda Railways locomotive. The Police fire and rescue service was able to rescue two UPDF soldiers albeit, in very critical condition,"Owoyesigyire said.

"The two, both privates, have been taken for treatment."

Uganda Railways Corporation confirmed the incident happened when the army vehicle knocked a commuter trained at around 7:19am at a railway crossing in Kireka.
