Court threatens to dismiss case against artistes who sang song asking Museveni to retire
Buganda Road Grade One Magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu has threatened to dismiss a case in which two people, a singer and producer are accused of offensive communication against President Museveni.
On Tuesday, hearing of the case was supposed to commence but the state prosecutor Abdul Salaam Waiswa from Uganda Communications Commission told court that he did not have the case file because he had lost communication with the investigating officer in the case to allow it continue.

“I don’t know the status of investigations in the case because I lost touch with the investigating officer and I don’t know his whereabouts,”Waiswa said.
However, in response, the furious Kamasanyu said the state is not serious with the matter because since they were charged, they have been turning up for the case but the state has not shown interest in prosecuting them.
She adjourned the matter to April 13 and promised to dismiss the case if the prosecution continues dilly dallying.
David Mugema a singer, and his music producer Jonah Muwanguzi are accused of offensive communication against President Museveni through their song titled ‘Wumula’ .
Prosecution alleges that between 2015 and 2017 at Salama road in Makindye division, the duo wilfully and repeatedly composed, recorded, produced and electronically communicated through social media a song titled ‘Wumula’ where they attacked and disturbed the peace of the president of Uganda without a purpose of legitimate communication.
