Dr Ken Chapman Kigozi, a distinguished 45-year-old dentist at Mengo Hospital, has officially bid farewell to Uganda after dedicating years of service to the country's healthcare sector.
As part of his farewell, Dr Kigozi paid a courtesy visit earlier today Buganda's Katikkiro (Prime Minister), Charles Peter Mayiga, at Bulange Mengo.
During the meeting, Katikkiro Mayiga expressed profound gratitude for Dr Kigozi’s contributions to both healthcare and cultural exchange in Uganda.
“We thank Dr Kigozi for his selfless service, particularly in dental treatment and professional training,” Mayiga said.
“He has played a pivotal role in improving the oral health of our people and in mentoring young Ugandan professionals. His contributions to our nation have been invaluable.”
Dr Kigozi, who first arrived in Uganda several decades ago, not only focused on enhancing dental care but also immersed himself in Ugandan culture.
“Thank you for embracing our culture, learning our language, and making Uganda your second home,” Mayiga added.
“Your work here will resonate for years to come.”

In his brief statement, Dr Kigozi expressed sincere appreciation for the warmth and support he experienced during his time in Uganda.
“It has been a truly rewarding journey serving the people of Uganda,” he said.
“I leave with fond memories and deep respect for this country’s cultural richness and the hospitality of its people.”
Dr Kigozi is now set to return to his home country, where he plans to continue his work in dental education and public health advocacy.
