A meeting convened by the Electoral Commission to iron out National Unity Platform (NUP) party leadership constitutional amendment dispute ended in a stalemate.
Despite hours of deliberation, a resolution remains elusive and it appears that the matter will have to await a court intervention.
Mr Julius Mucunguzi, EC's spokesperson, acknowledged the internal strife within NUP concerning their constitution.
He clarified that the EC, led by Justice Simon Byabakama, deemed it inappropriate to proceed with amendments or intervene in ongoing legal proceedings.
Mucunguzi emphasized adherence to the sub judice rule, highlighting the EC's commitment to await the court's verdict before taking further action.
