Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has requested the postponement of a special council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 4, 2025, due to delays in the preparation of a report on the performance of KCCA schools in the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
In a letter addressed to the Speaker of the Council of Authority, Sharifah Buzeki, the Executive Director of KCCA, confirmed the receipt of the meeting notice but noted that the Directorate of Education and Social Services is still finalising the comprehensive PLE report. The final report is expected to be ready by February 6, 2025.
The PLE performance report, a key agenda item for the upcoming meeting, has been eagerly awaited by both council members and the public.
This report is expected to provide insights into the performance trends of KCCA schools, highlighting areas of improvement and addressing any concerns that may have emerged.
In her communication, Buzeki expressed hope for the council’s understanding and cooperation, requesting that the meeting be rescheduled to accommodate the completion of the report.
KCCA continues to prioritise transparency and accuracy in assessing the educational standards within its schools.
