Kagame sacks long-serving minister over accountability
Dr Mujawamariya has been one of the longest serving members of Kagame's cabinet, going back to 2003
Rwandan President Paul Kagame has dismissed the Minister for Public Service and Labour, Dr Jeanne d'Arc Mujawamariya, over issues of accountability.
Mr Kagame's decision, communicated by Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente, on Thursday, says Mujawamariya is under investigation.

Dr Mujawamariya has been one of the longest serving members of Kagame's cabinet. She was only last month (June 12) moved to the Public Service and Labour docket from Environment ministry, replacing Jeannette Bayisenge.
Sources in Kigali have told this publication that the minister's accountability issues are from the environment docket that it appears her exit exposed a few closets with skeletons.
"Today, July 25, Dr Jeanne d'Arc Mujawamariya has been dismissed from her position as Minister of Public Service and Labour, owing to matters of accountability under investigation," PM Ngirente said.
Mr Kagame's government is renowned for exercising zero tolerance to corruption and related malpractices.
A PhD holder in Physical Chemistry, Mujawamariya has also previously served as Minister of Gender and Family Promotion (2011-2013), and Minister of Education (2006-2008).
She had served in the Education at junior ministerial levels such as primary education (2005-2006) and secondary education (2003-2005).
The former Rwandan ambassador to Russia was Vice-Chancellor of then-Kigali Institute of Science and Technology.
