Greater Kibaale district residents are in grief after the sudden demise of the celebrated district chairman George William Nyamyaka 83 who died at his home in Kitemuzi Mabaale town in Kagadi district .
Nyamyaka served as district chairman for greater Kibaale that compromises of now Kagadi, Kakumiro and Kibaale since 2002 to 2016 when he resigned active politics.
According to Geoffrey Mugisa ,the Kagadi town council town clerk, also son to late George William Nyamakya 83, he says his father had a blood clot in the leg and was operated some months ago .
"Mzee has been fine, only a few months ago he was operated a blood clot in the leg but he got fine and he has been moving well, "Mugisa said.
He however said on Saturday, he complained of chest pain and a medic was brought in to attend to him.
"On Sunday he woke up very fine and started watching TV. It is here that he slept off while in the chair watching TV , never to wake up."
Barnabas Tinkasimire the Buyaga West member of Parliament praised Nyamakya for his steady leadership right from when he was a head teacher at Naigana secondary school in Kagadi.
"He was very principled. We remember he raised Naigana secondary school flag high. When he joined politics and chairman LC 5 Kibaale, he is a man who stood to address a congregation and you would see a man fully in charge of a district,"Tinkasimire said.
George Bagonza Tinkamanyire, former LC 5 chairman Hoima, noted the district has lost a man who mentored leaders.
"Most of the best leaders have gone through his hands. He preached integrity, stead fast, service in politics."
Namyaka was greater Kibaale chairman between 2002 and 2016
He was a head teacher at Naigana SS for many years but he also served as Kibaale district service commission chairman.
