Over 530 Christians were on Sunday confirmed into the Catholic faith at Christ the King Parish in Kabale.
The joyous ceremony was presided over by Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, Bishop of Kabale Diocese.
Catherine Ndamira Atwakiire, Kabale District woman MP, encouraged the newly confirmed Christians to utilize their talents and gifts from the Holy Spirit to protect and spread the Catholic faith.
She emphasized the importance of securing national identity cards for participation in government programs, such as voting, accessing healthcare and transportation services.
Ndamira also advised the candidates to register in voter registers, ensuring eligibility to vote in 2025 and 2026 elections.
“Secure your national IDs for a secure future and also register in the voters registers to be sure of voting in 2026,”Ndamira said.
Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira hailed Christians for their commitment to the faith, urging them to accept Jesus Christ as their savior and follow His teachings.
He encouraged the newly confirmed to utilize spiritual gifts.
“Identify and utilize spiritual gifts. Recognize and harness gifts from the holy spirit to spread God's word.” Rt. Rev Rubaramira said.
“Firm believers stand strong in their faith, guiding others. Be the light, inspire and guide fellow Christians.”
