Edwinnie Mukamawenka, affiliated to the National Resistance Movement (NRM), has emerged victorious in the Kabale University guild president elections.
Mukamawenka, secured the victory with 1,011 votes, while her nearest competitor, Jonathan Akampurira, received 676 votes.
Winnie Mukamawenka emerges as the winner in the Kabale University 9th guild elections, big congratulations to her! As the guild we're blessed to have you as our next guild president 2024-2025, congratulations once again," the university stated on X (formerly Twitter).
In response to her significant win, Mukamawenka expressed her appreciation to her supporters for their role in her election as the new guild president.
"Deep gratitude to each and every one who voted for me, Mukamawenka Edwinnie, as your Guild President. Your trust and support propelled to me to serve Kabale University with dedication and passion. Together, we'll achieve greatness! Thank you for this mandate." She stated.
Additionally, the NRM congratulated Mukamawenka on social media for her achievement.
"Congratulations, Edwinnie Mukamawenka, on your remarkable victory in the Kabale University Guild elections. Your win is a testament to the enduring strength of NRM's values and the support we have across generations," the ruling party stated on social media.
