We shall abide by Court Orders – Museveni to the Judiciary
VP Jessica Alupo (C) represented the President at the launch.

President Museveni has pledged that government will strive to abide by court orders to ensure Judicial independence.

In an address read for him by Vice president Jessica Alupo at the start of the 25th Annual Judges’ Conference, President Museveni, implored the Judges to align the exercise of their judicial powers with Article 126 of the Constitution which prescribes quick expedition of cases, compensation to the offended and rightful judicial decorum.

"While your theme hints on the people centred Justice, we are called to represent and serve the people of Uganda," read out Alupo.

The president also rallied the officers to adhere to the code prescribed by their profession.

"Stand by the Judicial oath you took without ill will because Ugandans are mindful of where they have come from, where they have reached and where they are heading to," said Museveni.

In addition, the president pledged increased government support to the Judiciary for positive feedback from the public especially those that want to see a robust and dynamic Justice system.
