The Chief of Joint Staff of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Jack Bakasumba, has conducted an inspection of drill preparations by the 4 Infantry Division ahead of the forthcoming Chief of Defence Force (CDF) Inter-Forces Drill Competition.
The visit focused on assessing the unit’s readiness, discipline, and coordination as the division intensifies preparations for the high-level military contest.
During the inspection, Lt Gen Bakasumba expressed satisfaction with the standard of training and the professionalism demonstrated by the troops, noting that precision in drill reflects broader operational readiness.
“Excellence in training comes from passion and commitment,” he said, urging personnel to remain focused and continue refining their drill proficiency.
He emphasized the importance of sustained discipline and consistency in training as key to achieving high performance during inter-forces engagements.
The Chief of Joint Staff was accompanied by senior training officials, including Colonel Dothan Kavuma, Director of Training for the Land Force, and Lieutenant Colonel Wantimba of the Air Force.
The inspection was also attended by staff officers and departmental heads from the 4 Infantry Division.
The CDF Inter-Forces Drill Competition will bring together different formations within the UPDF to showcase discipline, coordination, and military professionalism across participating units.
