Police in Arua has mounted a hunt on family members who allegedly killed a primary six pupil accused of having sexual intercourse with their daughter.
Richard Waiswa , 16, resident of Nyayi cell, Kati Ward, Ayivu West Division, Arua City was killed for sleeping with a pupil at the same school and in the same class .
It is alleged that the deceased was caught in the act of sexual intercourse with the girl by the relatives, who beat and burnt him as well as inflicting multiple cuts on his head which led to his death.
According to Josephine Angucia, the regional police spokesperson West Nile Sub Region, the relatives carried and dumped the body in Oziava swamp and was later discovered by the area LC1 chairperson.
She adds that a case of murder has been registered and investigations into the incident have kicked off while the body was later handed over to the relatives for further burial arrangements.
Angucia says that the suspects are still at large and efforts are in place to have them arrested.
She has urged the general public to always handover such matters to police for proper action other than taking the law into their hands.
