Mubende business operators count losses after power shutdown
Business operators in Mubende district have raised concerns over a power shutdown for close to three days saying they are counting losses.
According to business operators , there has been an outage since Sunday, July, 21 leading to losses.

Johnson Nimwesigwa a technician at the Radio station mast in Booma Hills, Power outages in Mubende has challenged them.
"Its now three days of unstable power in our area and we have resorted to generators which is costly. You can image we are using over 50 liters of fuel every day which is now 150 liters in three days," said Johnson Nimwesigwa, a technician at one of the radio masts in Mubende.
"We cannot fail to blame UMEME over this cause because they never informed the public in time and this is not the first time."
Teddy Namuganga who deals in soft drinks says they no longer use refrigerators due to the outage.
"Since the outage occurred, the turn up for customers reduced because we no longer sell cold drinks and it has affects us."
Others locals claimed that the power outage was meant to stop them from following the march to parliament.
"Since President Museveni addressed the nation on Saturday we experienced power outages but we think it was intended to ensure we dont follow the march to parliament."
However Umeme said the outage was due to a fault on the line.
"Dear customer, the current outage you are facing is due to a fault. Work is ongoing to restore supply but we regret any inconveniences caused, a message by UMEME read in part.
