Speaking during the burial, local leaders tasked Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited(UEDCL) to compensate families of the victims.
Benon Kwikiriza, the councillor representing Kiyonga Parish said they had lost great pillars in the area.
"When you look at those who died, they were bread winners and their families are going to suffer,"Kwikiriza said.
"Much as UEDCL came up with a public notice about the incident, that's not enough to console the families. We ask them to compensate their families," Aron Muzoora, the chairperson for Kigando sub county said.
Mubende Woman MP, Hope Grania Nakazibwe promised to follow up the matter with UEDCL to ensure on top of compensation, they sensitize the public on how to behave in areas of high voltage lines.
"UEDCL should come on ground to sensitise our people because most of them dont know the dangers of those electric lines," Nakazibwe said.
In a statement released earlier, UEDCL sympathised with the families of the deceased.
"We sympathise with the families of the departed. May the souls of the departed find eternal life."
