General Muhoozi Kainerugaba Set to Visit Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed

Uganda's Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has announced plans to visit Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in Addis Ababa, signaling further strengthening of relations between the two nations.

In a recent post on the social media platform X, General Muhoozi expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming visit. He stated, “After Egypt, I’m going to visit my beloved brother H.E. @AbiyAhmedAli. I miss him and we have a lot of things to discuss. God willing, I will be in Addis Ababa soon.”
The Ethiopian Ambassador to Uganda, Etsegenet Bezabih Yimenu, responded warmly, highlighting Ethiopia's readiness to welcome the Ugandan general. “Dear General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Ethiopia is fully prepared to welcome you with great honour. I assure you of Ethiopia's unwavering commitment to strengthening our relationship further,” the ambassador posted on X.
This visit is expected to focus on key regional matters and bilateral cooperation between Uganda and Ethiopia, further cementing the already strong ties between the two nations. General Muhoozi's visit to Addis Ababa will follow his official trip to Egypt.
As both nations continue to engage in high-level diplomacy, this visit is seen as a significant step in bolstering mutual interests, particularly in matters of security, trade, and regional stability.
