Express FC has secured a major sponsorship deal with SemaBet Uganda, marking the betting company's entry as the club's official shirt sponsor for the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League season.

The one-year deal, valued at Shs 500 million, includes an option for renewal and is part of SemaBet's broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The sponsorship will cover both the playing and training kits of Express FC and is expected to bolster the club’s financial capacity.

The deal will enable FC to invest in player acquisitions, infrastructure, technical staff, and community outreach programs.

Andrew Kitamirike, Head of Operations at SemaBet, expressed excitement about the partnership.

"Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative is set to propel Express FC to greater success,"he stated.

He highlighted the company's dedication to supporting grassroots football development in Uganda and announced that the deal also includes funding the transfer of top left-back Mustafa Kizza to Express FC.

Beyond the football pitch, SemaBet has been actively involved in Ugandan communities through various CSR initiatives. Kitamirike noted their clean water project in Kyamukola village, which provides sustainable access to water, as part of SemaBet's commitment to creating positive change.

Express FC CEO, Miiro Ashraf, welcomed the sponsorship, emphasizing that the financial support will help the club remain competitive.

"This backing will give us the edge we need to challenge for the Uganda Premier League trophy," Ashraf said.

Fans will get their first glimpse of the new SemaBet-branded kits when Express FC faces Mbale Heroes FC in their league opener on September 14 at HAMZ Stadium.

The sponsorship deal comes at a crucial time for the club as it prepares for a competitive season ahead.
