The Busoga Consortium for Development (BCD) has made a significant investment of Shs3.92 million in the ongoing Busoga Masaza Cup tournament.

The contribution, in the form of training soccer balls, aims to strengthen community football and support the development of local talent as the tournament reaches its final stages.

The donation ceremony was attended by key officials from BCD and the Busoga Kingdom. Esther Mirembe, BCD’s Public Relations Officer, emphasized the importance of nurturing football talent in the region.

“This gesture comes at a crucial time as the tournament nears its climax. We urge team managers to make good use of the balls to improve local teams and nurture talent,” she said.

Owek. George Mutyabule, Speaker of the Busoga Lukiiko, expressed gratitude for BCD’s ongoing support for sports development.

“We appreciate BCD for this timely support. It will motivate our teams and help elevate community football standards in Busoga,” he said.

The Busoga Masaza Cup has grown into a vibrant sporting event, bringing communities together and showcasing exceptional football talent across the chiefdoms.

BCD’s investment reflects its commitment to youth empowerment, sports excellence, and regional cooperation.

Each of the 14 participating teams received four balls, totalling 56 balls worth Shs3.92 million. This initiative forms part of BCD’s broader efforts to promote community development and empower youth across Busoga.
