A Bold Salute to the Game-Changers

Guinness Uganda is redefining what it means to celebrate strength and brilliance with its trailblazing ‘Black Shines Brightest’ campaign—this time focusing on the trailblazing women transforming Uganda’s sports scene.

The campaign honors not just athletes, but also coaches, sports administrators, and community influencers who embody boldness, brilliance, and resilience—the core values of Guinness.

“We believe that greatness has no gender,” said Patricia Ssentamu, Brand Manager, Guinness Uganda. “Through ‘Black Shines Brightest,’ we highlight women who are unapologetically pushing boundaries.”

Powerful Partnerships for Powerful Voices

In partnership with NBS Sport, Guinness is producing a dedicated content series spotlighting the achievements of women in Ugandan sport. From grassroots heroes to internationally celebrated icons, the campaign celebrates their stories through:

Exclusive video interviews

Changing the Narrative for Good

While Ugandan women continue to rise in sports, barriers such as limited coverage, underfunding, and societal pressure still persist. Guinness is stepping in not just to celebrate but to advocate for systemic change.

“This is not just a campaign—it’s a cultural shift,” noted Amina Rukia, national netball team player. “We’re finally being seen and celebrated for what we’ve overcome.”

Guinness is also working alongside sports federations and local NGOs to:

Sponsor female-led tournaments

Fund grassroots training camps for girls

Support inclusive youth sports programs

A Movement Rooted in Black Excellence

Uganda continues to lead the way in Black excellence—from music and fashion to politics and now sports. The “Black Shines Brightest” campaign reinforces Guinness’s commitment to celebrating brilliance in all forms—especially where it’s long been overlooked.

“The brilliance of black shines brightest when we shine together,” Guinness Uganda shared. “And today, we shine the light on our sports heroines.”
