The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has launched a major renovation at its Technical Centre, replacing the old artificial turf with a new one.

This marks the first upgrade of the pitch since the facility's construction in 2012.

FUFA Communications Officer Ahmed Hussein confirmed that the installation process will take approximately one month to complete.

The new turf is set to enhance the playing conditions at the Technical Centre, which has long been a key venue for both local and international football matches.

The FUFA Technical Centre, built in two phases with finances from FIFA, is widely recognized as one of the country's top sports facilities.

Over the years, it has become a hub for nurturing local football talent, where many Ugandan players train and hone their skills, especially in using artificial turf.

"The upgrade is an important step in ensuring that we continue providing world-class facilities for our players and coaches," Hussein said. "The new turf will help elevate the standards of training and matches held at the centre."

The FUFA Technical Centre has hosted numerous high-profile events and remains a central part of football development in Uganda.

The addition of the new artificial turf is expected to further solidify its reputation as a cornerstone of the nation's football infrastructure.

Local football enthusiasts and players are looking forward to the enhanced playing surface, which promises to improve the overall experience for both training and competitive play.

Once completed, the new artificial turf will serve as a lasting investment in Uganda's football future, continuing to foster the growth of talent in the sport.
