Jubilee said its focus extends beyond offering financial solutions to proactively addressing health challenges in Uganda

Jubilee Life Insurance has teamed up with BIFA Club, a leading team in the ongoing Budo League, to champion the fight against Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) through alumni sports leagues.

The announcement was made by Allen Amoko, Jubilee’s Head of Corporate Business, who praised the leagues for their role in promoting healthier lifestyles and fostering community spirit.

“NCDs are a critical health challenge in Uganda, accounting for 33% of deaths annually, according to WHO," Ms Amoko said.

"Alumni sports leagues are a unique platform that not only bring former schoolmates together but also help combat these silent killers through physical exercise."

She further explained that Jubilee’s focus extends beyond offering financial solutions to proactively addressing health challenges in Uganda.

“This is what modern-day insurance is all about—preventing unforeseen challenges before they arise. Beyond ensuring financial stability through our products like the Jubilee Venture Plan and SMART Save, we want you to enjoy great physical health,” she noted.

BIFA Club chairman Kapalaga Kimeze welcomed Jubilee’s sponsorship, highlighting its significant impact on the team’s performance this season.

“The sponsorship has been a cornerstone of our success. Jubilee’s support has enabled us to focus on what we do best—competing at the highest level—while fostering unity within our team and community,” he said.

Kimeze acknowledged that Jubilee’s backing has covered essential costs, including jerseys and league subscription fees, ensuring the smooth operation of the team.

“We are determined more than ever to finish in the best position this season and make both our supporters and sponsors proud,” he added.

Jubilee’s Corporate Communications Manager, Camila Mindru, echoed the company’s commitment to health and wellness through this partnership.

“At Jubilee, we believe that supporting initiatives like alumni sports leagues helps build healthier, more connected communities. This partnership with BIFA Club is not just about supporting sports but about investing in the well-being of our people,” Mindru stated.

BIFA Club, currently leading the Budo League Season 8 standings, continues to shine as a testament to the transformative power of sports in tackling health challenges while bringing communities closer together.
