In a thrilling display of skill and endurance, Sinan Lukwago from Mbale Kickboxing Club successfully defended his title as the AFSO National Kickboxing Champion, defeating Francis Mutyaba in a tightly contested match.

The fight, organized by the Uganda Kickboxing Federation, took place in Mbale City and saw Lukwago dominate over five intense rounds, with scores of 10:8, 10:9, 9:7, 10:9, and 10:7.

Lukwago's victory cemented his place at the top of the professional kickboxing ranks, while Mutyaba, despite his valiant performance, will maintain his current standing.

After the match, Lukwago expressed his gratitude and vowed to continue representing Uganda on the international stage.

"I assure the people of Mbale and Uganda at large that the journey has just started, and I will never let you down," said Lukwago, hinting at an upcoming fight in Kenya and future continental representation.

Uganda Kickboxing Federation spokesperson and match judge Lucky Kirenga praised both athletes for their outstanding display of skill and determination.

He also emphasized the role of sports in engaging youth and urged local communities to rally behind such events.

The event drew a large and enthusiastic crowd, with junior fighters from Soroti and Mbale Kickboxing Clubs providing thrilling curtain-raiser matches.

One dramatic moment occurred when Soroti Kickboxing Club withdrew a player at the last minute, avoiding a match against Mbale’s rising star, Ashim "Black Wolf" Lukwago.

The showdown further underscored the growing popularity of kickboxing in the region and highlighted the talent within Uganda's local clubs.
