Uganda’s Gloria Anna Muzito has won Bronze in the Women’s Freestyle 100m swimming event at the 13th All African Games in Accra, Ghana, setting a new personal best and national record with a time of 56.01 seconds.
Despite a slow start in the final, Muzito showcased incredible determination, closing the gap and clinching the third position to claim the medal. South Africa’s De Lang Caitlin Ann clinched Gold with a time of 55.53, while Egypt’s Hisham Ahmed Osman Frida Silver in 55.62
Muzito's journey to the finals was marked by excellence, finishing first in heat 3 with a time of 56.96.
Reflecting on her achievement, Muzito expressed her joy.
"I’m very happy to achieve a personal best and maintain composure throughout the race. It was a great swim, and I just focused on reaching the finish line," she said.
In the 4x100m Freestyle relay finals, South Africa claimed Gold with a record-breaking time of 3:34:41 at the All Africa Games, with Egypt securing Silver (3:37:01) and Algeria Bronze (3:40:45).
Uganda displayed strong performance, finishing sixth with a time of 3:47:37, showcasing their prowess on the track.
