President Museveni has reiterated the Ugandan government’s strong commitment to protecting and supporting investors, emphasizing the role of new technology in strengthening this assurance.
This message was delivered by Col. Edith Nakalema, Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), during a high-level meeting with over 30 investors from the Danish Agriculture and Food Council trade delegation.
The delegation was led by Jacob Kahl Jepsen, representing the Embassy of Denmark in Uganda.
The Danish investors expressed interest in key sectors including agribusiness, solar energy solutions, and vocational skills development.
Col. Nakalema highlighted the introduction of the Electronic Investors Protection Portal (EIPP), a digital platform commissioned by the President in December 2023. The portal connects Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), enabling investors to verify procedures, access key contacts, and conduct due diligence.
“The Electronic Investors Protection Portal strengthens investor confidence and is globally accessible, offering a range of services and investment opportunities,” she noted.
She further emphasized SHIPU’s commitment to fast-tracking investor decisions by improving coordination across government institutions.
“Our commitment is to ensure your investments are safe, profitable, and impactful. You are not just partners but an integral part of Uganda’s transformation journey toward an industrial economy driven by value addition,” Col. Nakalema added.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Jacob Kahl Jepsen expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed Denmark’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Uganda, particularly in agribusiness and renewable energy.
He noted that the delegation is prioritizing opportunities in Africa, especially in East Africa, with a strong focus on Uganda.
Meanwhile, Juliana Kagwa, Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), encouraged the delegation to explore the country’s tourism potential, highlighting its wildlife, natural beauty, and hospitality—hallmarks of the “Pearl of Africa.”
