Russia has accused the United States and Israel of attempting to “drag” Arab countries into conflict through their military actions against Iran, warning that the situation shows no signs of de-escalation.
In a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov said: “One of the goals of the United States and Israel is to draw the Persian Gulf countries into a war against Iran.”
The ministry added that Washington and Tel Aviv “deliberately provoked Iran into retaliatory strikes against targets in some Arab countries, which led to human and material losses, which the Russian side deeply regrets.”
Lavrov further stressed that Russia would work to create conditions that would make any US or Israeli operations against Iran impossible.
“All those who suffer from the aggression of the United States and Israel are our strategic partners. We will do everything, together with other peace-loving members of the international community, to contribute to creating an atmosphere that will make this operation completely impossible,” the statement said.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also emphasized that the only viable path to stabilisation in the region is to immediately halt attacks on Iran, but it noted that, so far, there is no indication that such a cessation will occur.
The United States and Israel launched a major coordinated military offensive against Iran on 28 February 2026, striking military and leadership targets across the country.
The campaign killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei along with other senior officials.
In response, Iran has launched waves of ballistic missiles and drone strikes targeting Israel and U.S. military bases across the Middle East, including in Gulf states, as part of its retaliation campaign.
The conflict has rapidly escalated, with both sides exchanging attacks and raising fears of wider regional instability.
But since the fighting started, Israel has not only hit an elementary school and killed more than 160 pupils aged 7 and 12 but also stands accused of striking several Gulf countries in a false flag.
The British government on Wednesday said a drone strike on its base in Cyprus had not been launched from Tehran but stopped short of naming wo could have, leaving many concluding it was another case of a false flag.
