Four arrested over killing of colleague in payment dispute
Legislators, Parliament and Finance ministry officials are among those facing arrest this week.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the killing Philip Naitan, a resident of Lochede Village, Campswahili Chini.

The body of the 20-year-old deceased was discovered this morning by residents who alerted the police.

According to witnesses, the murder occurred at around 7pm on Monday, following a quarrel over wage sharing after a day's work at Moroto market.

The victim, who worked as a casual labourer, was allegedly ganged up on and beaten to death by his colleagues using stones, sticks, and other blunt objects.

"We heard someone crying for help at around 7pm, and shortly after, there was silence," said Joyce Ngorok, a witness.

"We have four suspects, whom we hope will help with the investigation," said Karamoja Police spokesperson Mike Longole.

The body of the deceased is currently at Moroto Regional Referral Hospital pending a postmortem examination. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with residents calling for justice to be served.
