Robbery suspect nabbed after assault of university student
Police at Old Kampala have arrested a one, Hassan Mayanja over suspected armed robbery on the home of Mackline Arinaitwe, a student at Victoria University.
Mayanja, is believed to have been part of a group of assailants armed with a hammer that forcibly entered the home of Arinaitwe in Nabulagala Zone, Rubaga Division on the night of August 22.

According to the police spokesperson, Kituuma Rusoke, the group assaulted Arinaitwe before stealing her property.
"During the incident, they assaulted her and stole her laptop, mobile phone, and academic transcripts. The victim attempted to resist, resulting in injuries," Rusoke said.
The police spokesperson stated that Mayanja, was intercepted by a police patrol team while fleeing the scene.
"While fleeing the scene, the suspects encountered a police patrol team from Old Kampala Police Station, leading to the arrest of one individual, Hassan Mayanja, a 32-year-old male resident of Kisenyi, Kampala Central Division. He later assisted in the apprehension of additional suspects," he said.
Rusoke confirmed that Mayanja was found in possession of a hammer and all the stolen items from Arinaitwe.
