NCBA Bank has brought its renowned Golf series to Jinja, marking an exciting new chapter in Uganda’s golfing calendar. This move not only aims to inspire excellence within the golfing community but also underscores NCBA Bank's commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation.

The NCBA golf Series, now in its fourth annual edition, has expanded beyond its traditional venues in Kampala and Entebbe to include the scenic Jinja Golf Club.

This expansion aligns with the bank's mission to promote the sport across Uganda and foster community development.

The series is set to be bigger and more thrilling than ever, spanning golf clubs across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda, and solidifying its reputation as the premier golfing event in East Africa.

“Today, we celebrate greatness. Our unwavering commitment to supporting golf stems from our belief in greatness, and that belief inspires everything we do. We encourage all participants to continue pursuing greatness as we journey through this exciting series,” said Mark Muyobo, NCBA Bank’s Chief Executive.

The tournament in Jinja not only provids a platform for local golfers to showcase their skills but also served as a reminder of the bank's dedication to environmental sustainability. As part of NCBA’s "Change the Story" initiative, golfers participating in the series planted 100 trees along the Jinja Golf Course.

This tree-planting effort is part of a broader strategy to combat climate change and preserve Uganda's natural ecosystems.

“Tree planting is integral to combating climate change and preserving our natural ecosystems. Our tree-growing activities yield tangible and lasting benefits, including carbon sequestration, employee engagement, and community empowerment,” Muyobo emphasized.

He further challenged Ugandan golfers to reflect on the challenges posed by climate change and to actively participate in solutions that protect and restore nature.

The tournament has seen enthusiastic participation from golfers eager to compete for a chance to play in the NCBA Golf Series Grand Finale in Nairobi. Winners from the Jinja league  of the series will join their counterparts from Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda in a high-stakes competition, vying for supremacy in the region.

“Both the Men and Lady Winners of the NCBA Golf Series will be flown to Nairobi to compete in the Grand Finale in November. This will give them an opportunity to test themselves against competition from the region and further develop their game,” Muyobo announced.

The event in Jinja is part of a strategic effort by NCBA to reach more golfers across the country and to promote the development of the game. By extending the series to Jinja, the bank aims to bring the sport to a wider audience and encourage community involvement in golfing activities.

The NCBA Golf Series is not just about competition; it is about fostering a sense of community, promoting environmental awareness, and encouraging personal growth through sport.

The inclusion of tree planting as part of the series highlights the bank's holistic approach to corporate social responsibility, blending athletic excellence with environmental stewardship.

As the series progresses, golfers and spectators alike are reminded of the dual mission of the NCBA Golf Series: to celebrate athletic excellence and to contribute positively to the environment.

This blend of sports and sustainability ensures that the series is not only a highlight in the sporting calendar but also a meaningful contributor to Uganda’s ecological health.

NCBA Bank’s efforts in Jinja reflect a broader commitment to regional sport development and community empowerment. By supporting golf and environmental initiatives, NCBA is fostering a culture of excellence and responsibility, inspiring greatness on and off the golf course.
