Uganda Cranes squad reduced to 27 as team enters residential camp

Following four days of non residential training at Namboole  stadium, the new Cranes Coach, Sebastian Desabre, has made his first major announcement trimming the squad to 27 players and summoning them to a residential camp ahead of the CHAN championship in Morocco early next year.

The team will further be cut to 23 players before CHAN.

"‘It was short time for me to evaluate the players. It was a choice today to name 27 players. We took preference for defensive and offensive [players]. Those not selected will be followed at their clubs during the championship. We need to focus on those going to camp so that we work on our targets before the first game against Zambia," Desabre said.
