It was a baptism of fire on Friday in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League as new entrants, Kyetume FC suffered arguably the heaviest defeat in their entire history at the hands of Onduparaka FC.
The hosts were the first to see the back of the net through a Julius Maligumu goal in the 20th minute but the visitors restored parity with only two minutes to the end of the first stanza, thanks to Deo Isejja.
The first half ended one all but the best was yet to come in the second stanza of the game as it rained goals at the Green Light stadium as the Caterpillars scored at ease.
In the second half, Jamal Malish scored twice in a space of five minutes to ensure the Caterpillars took the lead beyond reach to 3-1 but things were not yet over as more goals would come in later.
In the 62nd minute, Malingumu was back at it with his second and fourth goal for Onduparaka on the day off a Vitalis Tabu assist.
A few minutes later, Malish completed his hat-trick of a Tabu assist to move the Caterpillars to the fifth cloud but the West Nile side was not yet done with their obliteration of the new league entrants.
Onduparaka scored two more goals thanks to Tabu and Malish to ensure George ‘Best’ Nsimbe’s side was beaten for dead in what seemed like a welcome note in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
The win ensured Onduparaka moved to just a point below second placed BUL on the 16 team log in the Uganda Premier League whereas Kyetume are still 8th on 16 points.
