Kenya's Madoya triumphs at Entebbe Open

Kenya’s Jastas Madoya held his nerve on the final day of 2019 Castle Lite Entebbe Open and fend off a resurgent Dismas Indiza to claim the tournament’s top prize.

The Naivasha based professional had his campaign effectively sewn up when day one, leader Zimbabwe’s Robson Chinhoi faltered on day two.

Madoya who tied for third on day one with 1 under par 70,wrapped up his debut professional title returning -9 score off 275 over 4 rounds of golf.

“I managed to collect four birdies and 1 bogey on the final day, I really enjoyed myself and believe having Dismas (Indiza) and Herman (Mutawe) playing alongside me, pushed me even more,” said the visibly elated Madoya

Madoya beat Dismas Indiza who emerged second with 283 gross while Uganda’s Herman Mutawe finished third overall with 284 gross.

A total of 56 professional golfers from the region participated in the four-day long tournament that was part of the Safari Golf series.
