At least 200 golfers are expected to take part in the 22nd JBG Golf open that started yesterday at Entebbe Golf Club.
Thirty three professionals teed off with Pro Flavia Namakula the only lady taking part in this year’s open.
The 2019 JBG Golf open attracted three categories; professional, gross players and amateurs.
The tournament was officially launched today morning at JBG head office Kololo, Kampala.
During the launch, a cheque of Shs 20 million was handed over by the Managing Director JBG Uganda, Emmanuel Mugamba to the official of Entebbe Golf Club.
This is the prize money for the winner.
Gross players will play for two days; Friday and Saturday while the amateurs will play on Saturday.
"This year’s championship has seen an increase in the number of entries to 230 but only 200 golfers will be allowed to participate,” said Kagoro.
Kagoro said that it’s only JBG tournament that has seen golfers grab bigger prizes.
“In the history of Entebbe golf club, no one gives us better prizes than GAUFF Engineering,” Kagoro added.
Mugamba said that this year, the tournament will be played under the theme ‘engineering for the future’.
