By | October 1, 2019

Joseph Bossa who served as vice president of Uganda Peoples' Congress during the reign of Olara Otunnu is dead.

In a message, Bbosa's wife, Solome Balungi Bossa said: "Dear colleagues, I bring you the sad news of the passing of my husband Joseph Fred Bossa in the Netherlands. Burial arrangements will be communicated later. May his soul rest in peace."

Balungi Bossa is a judge at the International Criminal Court, in The Hague, Netherlands.

It is not yet clear what Bossa died of although there had been reports early this year that he was unwell.

In May 2016,  Otunnu handed over the leadership of UPC to Bossa but the transition was sabotaged and derailed when Jimmy Akena, the Lira Municipality MP, claimed he was the rightful president of the party.

Matters are still in court.
