President Museveni has visited and condoled with the family of a Kisoro lawyer who was killed recently by unknown assailants.

Lawyer Isaac Ssendegeya, 39 was shot dead by unknown assailants on the morning of July 21 at the doorway of his house in Nturo village near Kisoro town.

On Thursday, Museveni who was on a wealth creation sensitization tour in the area visited the deceased’s home and condoled with the family before assuring them of efforts to have the culprits behind the murder arrested to face the wrath of the law.

“Sorry for your loss. We shall find those criminals and they will face the law,” Museveni told the family.

Museveni who was told that the deceased lawyer is survived by a widow and two children advised that if possible, CCTV cameras should be installed to help investigators in such circumstances.

Following the gruesome murder, police arrested five people to help in investigations into the crime.

According to the Kigezi sub-region police spokesperson, Elly Maate, Sikola Nyiramajambere, Issah Mvano, Asuman Tito Hahumakwiha all residents of Bungana parish, Muramba Sub- County in Kisoro district.

It is alleged that the trio had a civil case in court where the deceased had represented one Migyera as his defence lawyer against the trio.

Migyera won the case.

Other suspects arrested by police include Mutesi Eliminate and Hadija Niyijena who had a relationship with the prime suspect that police said was on the run.

According to Maate, the accused used threatening words on the deceased lawyer after the judgment was delivered in his client’s favour.
