The Federation of Uganda's Football Federation (FUFA) President Moses Magogo has been elected to the CAF executive committee.
Magogo was elected during the CAF Assembly in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday evening after beating Tanzanian football administrator who doubled as the incumbent, Leodgar Tenga in a highly contested vote.
Magogo got 33 votes while Tenga got 19 votes and he will now serve as a CAF executive representing the Central - East Zone (CECAFA) which includes eleven countries such as Uganda, Kenny, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan, South Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti and Ethiopia.
This was the 41st CAF ordinary General Assembly and it was held at Cairo Marriot Hotel in Egypt.
At the same assembly, CAF intends to to hold a draw of the Total Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers that will be held in Cameroon in 2021.
By the time of compiling this report, The draw was yet to be held as it was the last item on the agenda.
Uganda is pitted in the Second pot with neighbouring Kenya and Congo alongside Libya, Niger, Zambia, Cape Verde, South Africa, Guinea, Benin and Mauritania.
