KCCA FC to face Rwanda’s Rayon Sports in the CECAFA Kagame Cup quarterfinals

Uganda’s remaining representatives in the ongoing CECAFA Kagame Cup in Rwanda, KCCA FC, will this Tuesday face Rwanda league holders Rayon Sports in the quarterfinal of the tournament at 7:30PM at the Kigali Stadium in Rwanda.

The Kasasiro Boys advanced to the quarters after edging Mukura 2-1 at Huye Stadium in Butare.

The yellow lads’ wonder kid Mustafa Kizza, while speaking after the training on Monday, revealed how their experience will be key in bringing down the Rwandan giants.

“We have played so many games and better teams than Rayon Sports so we have the experience to go past them. The coach has given us enough training and I hope together as a team, we shall qualify to the CECAFA semi-finals,” Kizza said.

The KCCA FC Assistant Coach, Morley Byekwaso, believes it will be a tough tie but that the technical team have done enough to prepare their players for the tie.

“It is going to be a tough game against Rayon Sports, but we have prepared our players and I am sure they won’t disappoint,” said Byekwaso.

Mike Mutebi’s side topped Group B with seven points while Rayon Sports came second in Group A with six.

Uganda’s only other representatives, Proline FC, exited last Thursday 11th July after a 2-1 loss to Zambia’s Green Eagles
