When URA FC head coach Sam Ssimbwa was given a four match toucline ban by FUFA last month for his misconduct, this presented not only a trying period for the club but also an opportunity for Ssimbwa's little known assistant George William Lutalo to step up and cease the moment and so he did.
Lutalo has paid his boss' trust with two wins and a draw for the taxmen.
His first test was against the un beaten defending champions Vipers sc on the 25th of January, at the Mandela National Stadium, one he passed with flying colours.
The game ended 1-1 to give the four time champions the confidence to take into their lesser next fixtures.
His second test was against the struggling Sports clubs Villa on the 2nd of February 2019 and thanks to defender Patrick Mbowa's header, Lutalo's side humbled the record league winners 1-0.
The most recent and perhaps most convincing win came away to newcomers Ndejje University on the 5th of February as his side won 2-1 at Ndejje's Arena of visions in Luweero.
This left URA FC fourth with 28 points their best position on the 16 team pile in a long time this season.
Like his boss Ssimbwa-, Lutalo's philosophy is safety first, defend first and then attack.
His next and perhaps final task in the manager's seat will be today against 13th placed Maroons FC at the Mandela National Stadium.
Lutalo explained his team's readiness for the clash against the bottoms table side.
“Our team is ready for the game. We have tried to reduce on the mistakes we had in the previous game. We will do our Based so that we can win again.
The pressure is there because the situation is more of results but we are trying to observe the pressure “
The coach is boosted by the return of team captain Shafiq kagimu who suffered a knock during their win over Villa, and their preffered number one James Alitho who limped off during the last quarter of the same.
URA FC lies 4th on the 16 team log with 28 points and has conceded just seven goals, (the least in the startimes Uganda premier League thistle season) while Maroons who earlier parted ways with their coach George Nsimbe dropped to 13th with 15 points and a goal difference of minus eight following their 2-0 loss to Mbarara City on Tuesday.
