PALLISA — Kaberamaido Assistant Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Peter Arikos has officially married his longtime partner, Amon Eunice, in a colourful wedding ceremony held in Pallisa District on Saturday.
The holy matrimony was presided over by Papa Rev. Okuni of PAG Pallisa, who based his sermon on Proverbs 18:22, reminding the congregation that “he who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favour from the Lord.”
The ceremony attracted family members, friends, government officials, cultural leaders and well-wishers from different parts of the country who gathered to witness the couple exchange vows and celebrate their union.
Following the church service, guests proceeded to Pal and Lisa Hotel for a lively reception marked by music, dance and congratulatory messages to the newlyweds.
Among those in attendance were colleagues from the Office of the President, alongside other stakeholders from across the country. Cultural leaders from the Teso, Bukedi and Kumam regions also graced the occasion, joined by political leaders and community representatives.
Arikos was accompanied by his groomsmen led by Hon. Tanga Collins, who stood by him throughout the ceremony as he embarked on a new chapter of life.
The wedding marked the culmination of a love story that began on social media in 2023. The couple first connected online and gradually built a strong relationship that blossomed into a lifelong commitment.
Earlier this year, on International Women’s Day, Arikos publicly proposed to Eunice, an event that drew admiration from friends and followers who celebrated the couple’s journey.
Saturday’s ceremony officially sealed their union, with guests describing the event as a memorable celebration of love, unity and commitment.
Many attendees praised the couple for their inspiring journey from a digital connection to marriage and wished them a successful and blessed future together as husband and wife.
The celebrations continued into the evening as family, friends and well-wishers joined the newlyweds in marking the beginning of their married life.
