First Pharmacy (U) Ltd has rejected online allegations connecting the company and one Brian Ssegawa to the alleged transfer of land reserved for the Mulago Heart Institute.
In a statement issued on May 28, 2026, the company said it had become aware of social media posts that used an image of its premises while making the allegations.
“We wish to state, categorically and without any equivocation, that Brian Ssegawa has no association whatsoever with First Pharmacy (U) Ltd, be it as a director, employee, agent, or at all,” the statement read.
The company further clarified that it “holds no proprietary or possessory interest of any nature in the said land.”
First Pharmacy described the allegations as “deliberate, alarmist, and constituting a grave misrepresentation” of the company, adding that they were “entirely baseless and without any factual premise.”
It urged those behind the posts to delete them and called on the public to rely only on verified sources of information.
“We kindly but firmly request that the said posts be deleted at the earliest. We trust this matter will be handled with the seriousness and responsibility it deserves,” the statement added.
The company also urged the public to disregard the circulating claims and avoid spreading misinformation, reiterating its commitment to healthcare service delivery in Uganda.
“First Pharmacy (U) Ltd remains committed to its mission of providing quality healthcare services to the people of Uganda,” it said.
The statement did not indicate whether the company would pursue legal action over the allegations but emphasized that the matter should be treated with seriousness.
