Muslims have been urged to uphold Islamic values, strengthen family relationships, and emulate the obedience and faith demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim during Eid al-Adha celebrations in Kayunga District.

Speaking during Eid al-Adha prayers at Namagabi Twaale in Kayunga Town Council, Abdunoor Kakande called on parents to establish effective communication with their children in order to build disciplined and God-fearing families.

Sheikh Kakande reminded believers that Eid al-Adha symbolizes sacrifice, obedience, and submission to Allah, drawing lessons from Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in fulfillment of Allah’s command.

“Eid al-Adha teaches us obedience, sacrifice, and faith in Allah. Muslims should emulate Prophet Ibrahim, who accepted Allah’s command without hesitation,” Sheikh Kakande said.

He warned that many families are losing direction because some parents have neglected their responsibility to guide and counsel their children.

“Today, many children are getting lost because parents no longer communicate with them. We need to build strong relationships in our homes and guide children spiritually and morally,” he noted.

The Sheikh further urged Muslims to remain united, disciplined, and committed to protecting Islamic teachings within their communities.

“Parents should become close friends to their children so that they can freely share their challenges and receive guidance before making wrong decisions,” he added.

He also encouraged believers to support vulnerable people, promote peace, and use the Eid celebrations as an opportunity to strengthen love and unity within communities.

Some Muslims who attended the prayers described the message as timely, especially at a time when many young people are facing moral challenges and peer pressure.
