Bruce Kabasa, the newly sworn-in Member of Parliament for Rubanda West Constituency, has pledged to prioritise tourism, education, and health during his 2026–2031 term.
Speaking after taking the oath at Parliament on Tuesday, May 13, 2026, Kabasa said tourism remains a key economic driver for Rubanda West and vowed to push for increased investment in the sector.
“Tourism is one of the biggest opportunities we have in Rubanda West. I will work with the Ministry of Tourism and local stakeholders to ensure our attractions benefit the people directly,” Kabasa said.
He further noted that improving health services and strengthening education would be central to his legislative agenda.
“Our people in Rubanda West need better health centres and quality education for their children. These will be my immediate priorities alongside tourism,” he added.
Kabasa was elected on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket in the January 14, 2026 general elections, succeeding Moses Kamuntu.
