Wakiso Land Grabber Charles Kyagaba Convicted by Entebbe Court

The Entebbe Chief Magistrates Court on Friday evening convicted Charles Kyagaba, a man described by prosecutors as a notorious land grabber in Wakiso District, on multiple charges including malicious damage to property, fraudulent procurement of land titles, criminal trespass, assault, and forcible entry.

Kyagaba, together with others still at large, had for years been accused of unlawfully claiming ownership of private land and allegedly targeting residents in Entebbe and surrounding areas.

The case was first brought to court following his arrest and arraignment by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SH-ACU), working jointly with the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) in 2022, after a wave of complaints from affected residents.

Authorities say the conviction follows years of investigations into allegations of fraudulent land acquisition and intimidation linked to his activities in Wakiso District.

Kyagaba is expected to be sentenced on May 18, 2026.
