Egyptian Abdel Fattah El-Sisi jetted into Uganda today for talks on key issues between the two countries and also congratulate President Museveni on his inauguration for another term of office.
El-Sisi, who arrived from attending the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, held bilateral talks aimed at strengthening cooperation between Uganda and Egypt in trade, industrialisation, renewable energy, fish farming and water resource management.
The meeting took place at State House Entebbe, where the two leaders also discussed regional peace and stability, emphasising dialogue and African cooperation in resolving conflicts across the continent.
According to President Museveni, he highlighted the need to support large-scale fish farming as a way of protecting wetlands, creating jobs and helping communities transition from subsistence agriculture to commercial production.
The leaders further discussed the importance of electricity generation and manufacturing in driving socio-economic transformation and improving livelihoods.
The discussions are part of ongoing efforts by Uganda and Egypt to deepen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in strategic sectors of development.
