State Minister for Sports Peter Ogwang, House of Prayer Ministries' Lead Pastor Aloysius Bugingo, and Rakai District Woman Member of Parliament Juliet Kinyamatama Suubi, have been assigned number-based ranks in General Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) leadership structure.

Ogwang was assigned Patriotic Officer (PO) 041, Bugingo was assigned PO 043 whilst Kinyamatama was assigned PO 044.

In an announcement made on Saturday, the Secretary General of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Daudi Kabanda, via his X (formerly Twitter) account, stated that:

“I am happy to announce that the Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has assigned the following members in PLU with Patriotic Officer numbers.”

The latest batch of assignments also included the late Joseph Tamale Mirundi, who was posthumously assigned PO 042.

Other newly announced members include Twaha Kagabo (PO 045), Jennifer Kayera (PO 046), Henry Kabanda (PO 047), Rodgers Bulegeya (PO 048), Paul Wanyoto (PO 049), and Molly Mukidi (PO 050).

The development follows an earlier rollout on April 26, 2026, in which Lwemiyaga County Member of Parliament-elect, retired Brigadier General Emmanuel Rwashande, was assigned Patriotic Officer (PO) 038, whilst the Minister of State for Information, Communications Technology (ICT) and National Guidance, Godfrey Baluku Kabbyanga, was assigned PO 021.

Previously assigned rankings also include Lukia Nakadama Isanga (PO 022), Samuel Katugunda (PO 023), Ali Ndawula (PO 024), Francis Adome (PO 025), Rtd. Major Joseph Kakooza (PO 026), Sam Kajojo (PO 027), Sam Nabeta (PO 028), Linos Ngompek (PO 029), Zipora Akol (PO 030), Joe Omara (PO 031), Prisca Yoriyori (PO 032), Jimmy Lwanga (PO 033), Muhammad Ssentayi (PO 034), Sarah Kiyimba (PO 035), General Taban Amin (PO 036), Polly Karamuzi Katwire (PO 037), the late Peter Banura (PO 039), and Shafique Ssebunya (PO 040).

Other members announced on March 22, 2026, include Frank Tumwebaze (PO 013), Haruna Kasolo Kyeyune (PO 014), Jane Ruth Aceng (PO 015), Joanne Okia (PO 016), Jackson Atima (PO 017), Ojara Mapenduzi (PO 018), Nelson Nshangabasheija (PO 019), and Frank Mwesigye (PO 020).

The latest rollout builds on an earlier structure first unveiled on March 20, 2026, where the founding members were listed as General Muhoozi Kainerugaba (PO 001), Andrew Mwenda (PO 002), Michael Nuwagira (PO 003), Edwin Karugire (PO 004), Daudi Kabanda (PO 005), Balaam Barugahara (PO 006), Michael Mawanda (PO 007), Lillian Aber (PO 008), the late Cedric Babu (PO 009), Frank Gashumba (PO 010), Henry Basaliza (PO 011), and Fadil Twala (PO 012).

The numbering system adopted by the PLU draws inspiration from the historical structure of the National Resistance Army (NRA), which later evolved into the National Resistance Movement (NRM) led by President Museveni.

Within that system, members who participated in the 1980–85 liberation struggle were assigned numbers that later became enduring symbols of rank and authority within the ruling party.

In a telephone interview with the Nile Post a few weeks ago, PLU Director of Communications Andrew Mwenda stated that the rankings reflect each member’s historic role in founding the organisation and their seniority.
