The Rotary Club of Kampala Kibuli has ushered in a new chapter of leadership following the installation of three leaders set to guide Rotary and Rotaract service initiatives during the 2026/2027 year.

The colourful ceremony celebrated leadership, humanitarian service, and renewed commitment toward community transformation.

Installed during the event was Mariam Nakimuli as President Elect of the Rotary Club of Kampala Kibuli, alongside Wasikye John Chris as Rotaract President Elect for Upper Kibuli, and Sanyu Kulthum as President Elect for the Rotaract Club of Kampala Kibuli.

In her address, Dr. Nakimuli unveiled an ambitious people-centred roadmap that will guide her one-year tenure, with healthcare interventions emerging as a major priority area.

She said her administration will place strong emphasis on sickle cell treatment and continued awareness campaigns aimed at reducing the burden of polio within vulnerable communities.

“Sickle cell is something we should tackle on and polio to see there are reductions, but also we shall provide camps to see a reduction,” Nakimuli said.

She emphasized the need for stronger collaboration in addressing health challenges affecting communities, noting that her leadership would prioritise mobilising resources, increasing awareness, and supporting treatment initiatives for individuals living with sickle cell disease.

Nakimuli also reaffirmed Rotary’s continued commitment to supporting local and global efforts aimed at eliminating polio.

Beyond healthcare, the incoming President Elect pledged to strengthen partnerships with fellow Rotary and Rotaract clubs, corporate organisations, and development partners in order to expand the impact of community outreach and service projects.

“This year will be about service with purpose, partnerships for impact, and transforming lives through collective action,” she said.

The installation ceremony reflected growing enthusiasm and commitment within the Rotary family in Kampala Kibuli, with members expressing confidence in the incoming leadership team and its vision for impactful service.

With new leadership now in place, the Rotary Club of Kampala Kibuli and its Rotaract counterparts are expected to deepen community engagement initiatives focused on healthcare, youth empowerment, and humanitarian service across Uganda.
