The Buganda Premier unveils a new development agenda focused on household transformation, urging citizens to prioritise productivity, cultural values and long-term economic growth over complacency.

The Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, has urged citizens, especially the youth, to embrace discipline, hard work and cultural values as the kingdom rolls out a new development agenda aimed at improving livelihoods.

Delivering the State of Buganda Address during a sitting of the Lukiiko at Bulange, Mengo, officially opened by the Speaker, Mayiga emphasised that the time for complacency is over.

“This is not the time for endless celebrations,” Mayiga said. “It is time for our people to focus on productive work without expecting quick rewards.”

The Katikkiro used the address to unveil the “Situla Omutindo” initiative, a strategic programme designed to uplift Buganda’s citizens economically.
