Namyalo Disowns Fake TikTok Accounts as ONC Warns of Rising Online Scams

Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and Political Assistant in the Office of the National Chairman, Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has distanced herself from fraudulent TikTok accounts using her identity to scam the public.

In a statement shared on the official platform of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), officials warned that multiple fake accounts have been created in her name, with imposters promising financial grants, scholarships and other forms of support to lure victims.

The statement clarified that Namyalo does not own or operate any TikTok account and has no immediate plans to join the platform.

“Members of the public are strongly advised to disregard any content or solicitations coming from such accounts. Do not engage with or send money to anyone claiming to represent SPA Hadijah Namyalo on these platforms,” the statement said.

The ONC urged Ugandans to remain vigilant and report suspicious accounts to relevant authorities, noting that scammers are targeting vulnerable individuals with false promises of government-linked assistance.

The development highlights a growing trend of online impersonation and cyber fraud, where criminals exploit the identities of prominent public figures to defraud unsuspecting citizens.

Authorities are expected to intensify efforts to track and shut down fraudulent accounts as part of broader measures to curb digital scams.
