A defining moment unfolded at the recently concluded 101st District Conference Assembly of Rotary District 9214 as Kato Isa, Charter President of the Rotaract Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf, was nominated District Rotaract Representative Nominee for the 2027/2028 Rotary year.

The nomination marks another milestone in Isa’s growing leadership journey within the Rotary movement, built on years of service, mentorship, and club development across the district.

Speaking during his acceptance speech, Isa expressed gratitude to the Rotary and Rotaract fraternity for the trust and support extended to him throughout his journey.

“I thank you for believing in me and in the vision we share,” he said, while appreciating the nomination committee and district leadership.

He also paid tribute to the Rotaract Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf, describing the club as the foundation of his leadership journey.

“You are my foundation and my strength. This moment is because of you this is not my victory, but our victory,” he said.

Isa pledged to focus on building an empowered, innovative, and united district where Rotaractors can grow, serve, and create meaningful impact within their communities.

He further affirmed his commitment to serving with humility, integrity, and purpose throughout his tenure.

For many within District 9214, Isa’s nomination represents more than a ceremonial achievement. It reflects a leadership journey defined by consistency, growth, and transformational service.

Isa’s Rotary journey began at the Rotaract Club of Victoria University, where he served as Vice President during the 2022/2023 Rotary year before becoming President in 2023/2024.

Under his leadership, the club registered significant success, earning multiple accolades and recognition across the district. His tenure culminated in him receiving the prestigious President of the Year award during the Hope Creator year after guiding the club to five awards at the 99th District Conference Assembly.

Despite the recognition, Isa has consistently emphasized servant leadership and mentorship over personal accolades.

As Club Advisor during the 2024/2025 Rotary year, he transitioned into mentoring emerging leaders while expanding his contribution across District 9214 through several strategic roles.

These included serving as Vice Chair of the Rotaract Corporate League, Assistant Public Image Chair for District 9214, RELI Chair Uganda, and Project Chair for the Muvuka Suubi Project.

Isa also made a notable impact as Charter President of the Rotaract Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf, where he led the establishment and growth of the club into one of the district’s most successful Rotaract clubs.

Under his stewardship, the club won eight major awards, including the coveted Rotaract Club of the Year accolade during the 100th District Conference Assembly held in Dar es Salaam.

Beyond Rotary, Isa is also a passionate golfer affiliated with Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa, reflecting his commitment to discipline and excellence both on and off the course.

Currently serving as Assistant District Rotaract Representative for Central Zone 7, Isa continues to shape leadership and service within the district.

Quoting leadership author John C. Maxwell, Isa often references the belief that “everything rises and falls under leadership”  a philosophy many say is reflected in his own journey of service and impact.

As he steps into this new chapter, supporters say his nomination signals continued growth and renewed momentum for Rotaract leadership within District 9214.
