Besweri Kaddu, the father of the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, has died.
In a brief statement shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, Archbishop Kaziimba announced that his father passed away on April 14, 2026.
“We thank God for the gift of life He has given him,” he wrote.
Kaddu passed away from Mengo Hospital at the age of 92.
According to the funeral programme released in the same statement, a funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at All Saints’ Cathedral, Nakasero, from 10:00am to 12:30pm.
This will be followed by a vigil at Gulama, Najja in Buikwe District at 6:00pm.
The burial is scheduled for Friday, April 17, 2026, beginning with a funeral service at 12:00pm in Gulama, Najja, Buikwe District.
“We request for your prayers in all,” the Archbishop added.
Kaddu was born on August 1, 1933, in Kiwangala Village, Najja Sub-County, Buikwe District.
