Govt to Harmonize Arts ,Science Teachers’ Salaries Starting Next Financial Year

The State Minister of Finance has revealed that the government plans to increase salaries for arts teachers and harmonize them with those of their science counterparts starting next financial year.

Speaking at an event organized by Kakore Rugambwa Catholic Parish in Rubanda District, Musasizi, who also serves as the Rubanda East MP, said the government will harmonize pay for both science and arts teachers beginning July next year.

Without disclosing specific figures, Musasizi also revealed that primary school teachers will receive a salary increase.

“You all know how teachers have been complaining about salary disparities. Now, that has been addressed. At the instruction of President Yoweri Museveni, we have ensured an end to this inequity in the next budget,” he said.

Musasizi further stated that government funding for larger parishes will be increased under the Parish Development Model (PDM) in the next financial year. The allocation will depend on the number of households in each parish.

“We are still finalizing calculations to determine the exact amounts to be dispatched, as in some parishes, all targeted beneficiaries have already received PDM loans,” he noted.
