By | March 20, 2026

All is set for the official commissioning of the fully equipped Mama Kariisa Maternity Ward at Rubaare Health Centre IV in Ntungamo District, scheduled for March 28, 2026.

The modern maternity ward, donated by the Kariisa family in partnership with the Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf, marks a major step toward improving maternal and child healthcare services in the area.

Health officials say the new facility is expected to enhance the quality of care for mothers and newborns while easing pressure on the existing health infrastructure.

In preparation for the commissioning, a range of advanced medical equipment has already been delivered to the facility.

The equipment includes baby warmers, baby incubators, theatre lights, patient monitors and stainless steel trolleys, all aimed at strengthening emergency response and routine maternity care.

Local leaders and healthcare workers have welcomed the development, describing it as a timely intervention that will help save lives and improve health outcomes in the community.

The commissioning ceremony is expected to attract dignitaries, medical professionals and members of the public, who will gather to witness the unveiling of a facility expected to transform maternal healthcare services in the region.

The Mama Kariisa Maternity Ward is being viewed as a strong example of partnership-driven development, highlighting how collaboration between communities and organisations can contribute to strengthening Uganda’s healthcare system.
